Copenhagen: The Food (Part 2)

I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a great day and weekend. For those who celebrate, you are probably saying to yourself, “I can’t think or talk about food because I’m still stuffed!” lol Well, the nordic food of Copenhagen is unique and definitely something to discuss.

The food was something I have never tried and couldn’t compare it to things that I have had before. The flavor combinations were indescribable. I had to read the menu while I ate just to remember what was in the dish.

The menus’ items ranged from simple dishes of very thinly sliced beef to more complicated dishes that combined sweet potatoes, flowers, and lobster bisque. They used simple, fresh ingredients to create memorable dishes. My palette was awakened to new tastes some of which I would love to experience again while others not so much.

The restaurants’ decor were just as interesting as the food. They were all very cozy and intimate spaces regardless of the size. I felt as if I was in someone’s home.Below are photos of inside one of the restaurants (Cafe Norden) and a few of the dishes from Salt.

#FITip: Get to learn about a culture through its food. It is a way to inspire your palette and open your mind to new ways of cooking.
